This ride is about 4.5 hours long without stops and is perfect for the summer months. The mountain passes are covered in snow during winter. We started in Albany, Oregon, hit interstate 5 for a short run to state route 164 to the small town of Stayton. From here, take highway 22 east through Mill City, and then to Detroit. Detroit Lake is a perfect spot to take a break and take in the scenery.

Continue east on highway 22 and take highway 20 west heading to Sweet Home. This are some of the best windy, forested mountain roads in the Oregon Cascades. You will find a few places to pull off the road for a break here an there to take it all in. Continue on 20 to Foster Lake, and then Sweet Home. Stay on highway 20 west to return back to Albany.

This ride is about 4.5 hours long without stops and is perfect for the summer months.
